I made it SCARCELY above 1,000 calories today. But I did it. And that's progress.
My Dad and I made a sick trip to Trader Joe's. I have curry simmer sauces, thai curry sauces, coconut milk, chilis, water chestnuts, olives, chicken, stew meat (kosher and PERFECT), FRESH basil, fresh dill, lots of diced tomatos, fresh vegetables and fruits, pinenuts, goat cheese...
And it goes on. I went to heaven. I'm READY to cook, people. A stop at Surfa's (whisks, garlic presses, grater, the basics, and some lentils, mini muffin pan, whoops, mini donut pan), a stop at Whole Foods for everything I couldn't get at TJ's, and eventually, Penzy's the spice store. I'm ready to spend some serious dough in there. I just want EVERYTHING.
I have recipes to do and plan, and I'm SO excited to make things and share them with the people I love. And hey, I'm not a bad cook, y'all. Mmm, almond meal. I can make "bites" again. Yay!
I feel GOOD. I feel productive. All this cooking is GOOD for me, and for everyone, and I can share.
And then the downside. I overdid it. Shocker. After coming back from TJ's, I prepped a marinade for chicken for tomorrow night (smells good, hope it tastes good), and then came into my room. I was EXHAUSTED. And back pain PAIN, and also pain in my sternum area. Oh well. Yay drugs?
And then we had to go listen to some bazookia player which was heard the tail end of and then just chatted. Pleasant, but I was thrilled when Malcolm had to go, and he walked me home. It was my first "adventure", and I'm exhausted.
Tomorrow, Mom picks me up. Let the work begin. And the sleep too, please.
