Mmmm, Papaya

I just polished off about 3/4 of a Maradol (read: HUGE) Papaya. YUM! Okay, it took several hours, servings, and some accidental stuffed and subsequently unstuffed challah (Puking Sucks Sometimes!) to make the room FOR the papaya, but still very very yummy.

Last night I went to Friday night Shabbat services with my Dad. I had NO idea about what to expect. I've been raised with a mishmash of Judaic levels of "observance", but this was pretty, well, rockin'. I'd go on, but no one would understand when I compared it with USY Shabbos Mincha. See, I lost you.

I wasn't able to relax, which frustrated me of course, but I still really enjoyed it mentally. Does that even make sense?

Got home, found I'd sold my Dad's blood meter on eBay (YAY!!) and it had to be overnight shipped (I'd added it as an option after I'd gotten a request for it). Bad? It's Friday NIGHT. This has to be overnight shipped on SATURDAY. And no, my Dad can't do it. Because he's well, just not capable of these things.

Couldn't find a box (finally found one), and I took apart 3 large envelopes to wrap the box in so it didn't say "Canon 30D". I was pretty proud of this one, I must say. A bit of ingenuity works pretty well. I even printed out the postage label and all that. And then I printed out two locations of post offices with Saturday hours for my Dad to go to, since I couldn't do it. With my Dad, you really do have to spell. it. out. But hey, money. Yay money. Wait...you're going to student loans. Fucker.

My cousin's Bat Mitzvah was today. Maya, 3rd of 5 girls. Whew. They're...maybe 2nd or 3rd cousins at least up to twice removed. We never lived that far from them, but I've never gotten to know them anyway. Eh. The ceremony was lovely (and interesting from a Judaic perspective which I won't go into), and I danced a bit (in heels!) which was fun. And tiring.

And this stupid right hip incision is really in it to win it. It's getting cumbersome, but hey, it happens. I still looked good today, I must say. And I'm going to see if I can CAREFULLY shrink this dress I love so much. It's a cashmere blend, so I assume a bit of time in a carefully controlled setting might shrink it.

Looks like I'm going to have to hand wash and then let it dry in the dryer. *crosses fingers*

And that's the babbling. Now for bedtime.
